Falling in Love with Pottery After 70

Falling in Love with Pottery After 70
I have always loved making things with my hands.
As a child, I enjoyed working with clay, making jewelry, knitting, and creating little things for our home. But it wasn’t until much later in life that I realized how deeply this love of making had always been a part of me.
After raising my children and caring for my family, I discovered pottery in my seventies.
Working with clay brought back a sense of joy and curiosity I had not felt in years. It felt as though a small part of me that had been quietly waiting was awakening again.
Pottery also reminded me of the biblical image of the potter and the clay. Just as each vessel is shaped differently, I believe God has created each of us with our own unique shape and story.
SOON POTTERY is a reflection of that journey.
“Soon” comes from my name, and this is a place where I hope to share the simple joy of creating, one piece at a time.
A little later in life, but perhaps at just the right time.
